I began writing poems years ago during a time of personal upheaval. The compactness and precision of poetry helped me find the core--the seeds--of those changes and transformations.
Poems continue to be my medium for using language to pare experiences and ideas down to their essence. When my friend, poet and editor Lana Hechtman Ayers once described my work as "steel lace," that sounded precisely right.
My work has been published in journals such as Pontoon, The Floating Bridge Anthology, The Hawai'i Pacific Review, Pearl Magazine, Poets Against the War, and others.
